Solo Rehearsal

Before I started the rehearsal, I made sure to warm up my vocals. An exercise I performed was humming in different octaves. Doing this ensures that my throat is clear and able to perform to the best of it's ability. In this rehearsal, I tried to add movement to my solo song from Jekyll and Hyde. I think that I need to improve my posture more, and try to stick in one place; that way, the audience won't have to keep tracking me as I move around the space (1:10 - 1:15), and it gives the piece a more static and thrilling feeling, which the piece is meant to entail. I think that I need to work on some of the higher notes as belting in a chest voice can be very straining, which means I need to warm up and cool down more, and make sure that I drink a lot of water and be careful of what I might eat on the performance. Second Workshop with Choreographer

Before the workshop we warmed up to a song. We focused on our arms, legs and midsection as we're going to be dancing and all body parts need to be warmed up. We rolled our hips to make sure that our joints were warmed up, stretched our arms in order to ensure that we wouldn't pull a muscle in them and bounced on our feet to focus on the stamina side of the rehearsal. In our Second Workshop with the Choreographer we added more to the piece and tried to polish up on the things we learned. At (0:13-0:17) I am at the back of the group at the left centre stage position. My timing is better than it was in the previous rehearsal. However, at (0:40 - 0:43) I wasn't able to get to my position on time and I ended up just bumping into my partner instead of performing a clap and a hip bump. To improve this I need to work on my pace and stamina, because I was feeling out of breath from having rehearsed the piece throughout the whole hour. In order to work on this I need to warm up befor...
